Full procedure for Driving license application in TAIWAN:

 Hello everyone,

Here is the full description and step wise process to apply and prepare for DRIVING LICENSE IN TAIWAN. 


 Preparation time : One month for me. 

Note: It differs from person to person. If you have driving practice, it takes one month. If you don't have driving experience, it may take 2 months. One month to drive confidently and one month to prepare for test.

 I'm from Kaohsiung. Hence, most of all the location details are nearest to my place.

There are two tests to pass if you need to get Driving license.

1) PEN TEST OR WRITTEN TEST,

2) ROAD TEST OR DRIVING TEST.

STEP BY STEP PROCESS:

Step 1: Book a slot for Driving license on this portal given below: 

Registration link to book a slot or apply DL

Note: You have to book a slot within a month to take test now.

i) Select English (on the top left to view the whole page in English) or right click and select translate in English.




ii) Click on "Query session search".

iii) Check the available number of vacancies and select one date.

iv) Fill the form. 

Note: While filling the form, make sure you enter your Date of birth in chinese format. 

Example: My DOB is 03 Aug 1995. In chinese calender, it is 0840803. 

Description: First three digits 084 in chinese calender means 1995.  Next two digits 08 represents month i.e., Aug. Next two digits 03 represents date i.e., 03.

Step 2: Prepare for the test. Materials are provided below:

Step 3:Practice Mock test on

i) Website link: Mock test link

          Note: 50 questions,30 Minutes

         i) Select English 

        ii) Select written test

       iii) Select motor cycle 

       iv) Hit on "Confirm".

Note: There are many videos in Chinese and English where the rules are demonstrated clearly for more clarity. 

Step 5: Places to practice road test in Kaohsiung.

Note: There are many places to practice in Taiwan. Just search your nearest available one.

Step 6: Get medical report from your nearest authorized hospital.  Carry ARC, student id card, NHI (optional), photo. It charges 150 NTD.

Note:  You can get the medical report at least 2 days before to avoid hassle-free situation at the end.

Step 7: Actual test day :

Note: Prepare well and attempt as many mock tests as possible before the actual test.

i) Carry ARC, one passport size photo, 250 NTD for registration.

ii) 2 hrs safety class+ 30 min exam+ 10 mins driving test.

iii) Once you clear written test and road test, you have to pay 200 NTD to get the License card.


CONCLUSION: 

TOTAL AMOUNT NEEDED: 600 (150 FOR MEDICAL + 250 FOR DRIVING TEST REGISTRATION +200 FOR DRIVING  LICENCE CARD)

Note:

1)  If you fail in written test, again book the slot and attempt exam directly. No safety class second time. 

2) If you clear written test and fail driving test, then book the slot again and pay 125/- ntd. NO safety class and written test again.
